In Appleton, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in Wisconsin, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.

They had a lot of new varieties of petunias and other flowers, that I hadn't seen before! I love garden centers that try to find something new and different! A nice sized garden center, lots of choices, with prices comparable to other garden centers. Hanging baskets, planters, vines. Some vegetables and herbs too. I'll be back!
